Summery Postcards

I am looking for "summery" postcard ideas, here is what I came up with:

"Le Soleil d'Or" is a local camping and sight seeing spot with an incredible vue of the river Restigouche.

Highly stylized image of our landscapes....

Recycling: Catalognes

A friend took pity on me and cut my immense stash of badly printed fabrics, accumulated for nearly 20 years (I have had a fabric store) into 1/2" strips.
Our supervisor Zouleïka is seen here completely overworked:
My job was to sew the strips together and roll them into balls:
just a small part!
Then this friend wove them into blankets, called catalogne here. We are lucky to have a "Cercle de Fermières" where 8 looms are available. Volunteers mount the wefts and teach any member who wants to learn.
This catalogne was woven from fabric shown in the above picture right, with two passes of yarn every couple of inches:
The violet one is made from the balls in the center of the above photo:
A combination of the first two blankets:
And the last one is a souvenir catalogne, woven from my friend's mother's sheets:

Slumberparty

This is a baby quilt that was demanded for the provincial exposition by the Fédération des Cercle des Fermières du Québec.
The pattern had to be 9-patch or a variation,
and other technics, such as appliqué, would make the quilt lose points.
The fabrics are from Sew-Sisters in Toronto, one of their monthly fat-quarter bundle which I had hoarded for quite some time (they were much too pretty to cut up)
This is another take on this quilt, with the appliquéd motives replaced by quilting with coloured threads.

It even looks lovely on the back side!

New Employee

Regina's Quilts is proud to announce a new employee: Sonsie
He/she (not certain yet) promises a great capacity for attention to detail:
facility in expressing opinions (not favorable for this project as shown by the tongue):
seems to know about machines:

and is willing to work with older employees and accept their advice:
He was born about 2 months ago under my patio and in between my stacked logs to an errand cat. Unfortunately the mother can't be caught to be spayed.
